At the end of the day, you are solely responsible for your success and your failure. And the sooner you realize that, you accept it, and integrate it into your work ethic, you will start being successful. As long as you blame others for the reason you aren’t where you want to be, you will always be a failure.–Erin Cummings
Haters, naysayers, people that just don’t understand what you’re doing and why. They are in your ear constantly. They are trolling you on FB, Twitter, Instagram, wherever. You have to stop letting it effect you and keeping your own life in perspective because that is exactly what they want. I try to tell this to you all the time, the world, critics, naysayers, haters, they all want to control and define you. These people will always be around you in the world telling you, you can’t, you won’t, or you shouldn’t. Believe me when I tell you they say that because they didn’t, they wouldn’t or they believe they couldn’t. Don’t you ever be defined by someone else, always follow your dreams. Don’t let your reason for success be you didn’t at least try. These people never tried because they let the fear of failure control them. I got news for you, you are going to fail. It is a part of success. You are going to struggle, it will be hard, probably will test you more than you have been in your entire life. The win for you will be when you make it. Success shuts up a lot of people. Success also brings more haters.
As human beings, we are taught from birth to stick with whatever is safe. Taking the path of least resistance; scared to try something different. Fearful. That fear is what holds people back from success. You can reach your full potential if you focus on you. Push yourself, try harder. Anyone who isn’t supporting you is standing in your way of success. When you start listening to these types of people you lose focus and you stunt your growth towards your dream, goal or whatever it is you are trying to accomplish.
One of my new favorite quotes I read recently said: “If you will live like no one else, later you can live like no one else.”—Dave Ramsey Do you understand that? It means if you make the willing sacrifices today, you can reap greater rewards tomorrow. It means you are willing to forgo some luxuries, working long hours, getting your team on the same page as you and pure sacrifice in favor of your long term goals. When you are willing to put you and your success first it is easier to not care what others think and you will get closer every day to the life you want. No, check that, the life you deserve.
My dad use to say, “Be who you are and say what you feel, in the long run those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” (Yes, that is from a Dr. Seuss book.) This idea that I should pursue the best for myself and be my best self and those who might laugh at me, try and tear me down even try and stand in my way, those people just don’t matter.
All Star Motivation wants you to succeed. That’s why we have a road map to success that we give every person that enters our door and starts training. All you have to do is follow it, know right from wrong, and be able to teach this to someone else. Letting other people define your success is why you are where you are. So
I leave you with one simple question and one quote to ponder for yourself:
Who defines you?
There is only one way to avoid criticism: Do Nothing, say nothing, and be nothing.–Aristotle
