I was reminded this week by something I saw on social media about how people react to things. It’s funny how you as an individual are put into certain situations in life and how easy it is to play the “blame” game. It’s never our own fault it’s always someone or something else’s fault. Everything that you are and everything you are going through in this life is all on you. Your failures, your victories, your sadness your happiness it is all based on who you are and how you have arrived to the current situation you are in. It’s all the choices you have made. Your decisions and your moral compass has lead you to right where you are at this point in your life. If you feel alone or abandoned or that there is no help in site then I would evaluate the decisions I had made up to this point.
Steve Jobs had high expectations and he was a tough boss according to people who worked for him. He expected them to work hard, work longer and do more, sometimes more than they thought was possible, wrote Jeff Haden in a recent article I read online. He went on to write: Jobs was … well, let’s just say that Steve Jobs was demanding. But he also believed in the power of asking. Most people never pick up the phone and call. Most people never ask, and that’s what separates, sometimes, the people who do things from the people who just dream about them. Granted, it’s often not easy to ask for help. Asking can make you feel insecure. Asking can make you feel vulnerable. But oddly enough, that’s a good thing. When you ask for help, without adding qualifiers or image enhancers, when you just say, “Can you help me?” several powerful things happen, especially for the other person.
You show respect. Without actually saying it, you’ve said, “You know more than I do.” You’ve said, “You can do what I can’t.” You’ve said, “You have experience [or talents or something] that I don’t have.” You’ve said, “I respect you.”
You show trust. You show vulnerability, you admit to weakness, and you implicitly show that you trust the other person with that knowledge.
You show you’re willing to listen. You’ve said, “You don’t have to tell me what you think I want to hear; tell me what you think I should do.”
By showing you respect and trust other people, and by giving them the latitude to freely share their expertise or knowledge, you don’t just get the help you think you want. You might also get the help you really need. You get more — a lot more. And then, best of all, you get to say two more incredibly powerful words: “Thank you.” And you get to truly mean them. And if that’s not enough to convince you: If a guy like Steve Jobs was willing to ask for help, shouldn’t we?
Shouldn’t we? The truth is this. I don’t want to help anyone who isn’t running the All Star Motivation System. We have a system here that is proven, we prove it week after week, month after month, year after year. This one office who started 11 years ago with a handful of people and two guys who had determination and one guy who had a dream and was willing to share the dream with us and ultimately making All Star Motivation what it is today. We laid the ground work for anyone who wants it and has the moral compass and integrity to do things the right way and follow the path we teach you. Anyone can come in here and in as little as a year be on their way to their actual dreams. Actual Success. That’s the problem though isn’t it. Finding those individuals. When you do, man, it’s like the perfect storm. Just ask Steven and Za’Kee in Texas. They are riding high right now because for a full year they have followed the path, the system we taught them. The ups and downs, the highs and lows. Now those small problems are next to nothing when your business has brought in close to 50K in the last month. There is no doubting that the All Star Motivation System works. When you run your business the right way, and you have the personal fortitude to treat your people right, you work as a “TEAM”, and work together to help not just build the All Star Motivation brand but your business, the people in your organization, that loyalty to brand it boosts all of them.
When you lie, cheat, change the system to fit your needs, rely on others to do the work you should be doing, lazy, blame others instead of your own flaws, and the main one is thinking you know better than us, that’s when you will fail. It won’t be pretty either. You will lose everything, you will feel alone, you will feel like you have no help. The truth is you are right. You have pushed away the people who all along had your best interest at heart. The same people who time and time again have tried to get you back on the path of the “System” doing things the way we teach, that is tried and true, that beyond a shadow of a doubt the best and only way to become successful, those same people you are blaming are the same people who will always help you. That is if you are finally ready to listen and do things the All Star Motivation way. The successful way. They right way to anyone’s success.
I’m reminded of a couple of quotes that I love when I am reminded of them.
A person can fail many times, but they aren’t a real failure until they start blaming others.—Unknown
If a person doesn’t want to take responsibility for the consequences of their own actions, they may try to blame others. Don’t accept the blame or try and fix things for them when you have done nothing wrong. They need to learn that if they want different outcomes, they will have to make different choices.—Doe Zantamata
Choices. We all have them to make every day. What type of person, distributor, manager, VP, President, whatever your title, we all have choices. Those choices you make right now good or bad will reflect whatever things you are trying to accomplish. The better your choices the better your life and the people who count on you will be. The same is true for the opposite.
All Star Motivation is a very unique company. If someone and I mean anyone walks in our door that has the right attitude can come in here and is as little as a year be on their way to the life they always wanted. It’s that simple. If you can follow directions and work right, and follow the System that we have here, you will check off everything on your list of dreams. It’s just that easy. Your success is directly put into your hands. What you do with it is up to you. It’s always and will always be up to you.
